Goettsch International – Our History

Goettsch International has a long history in the corrugated machinery industry, dating back to the early 1900’s. Herman Goettsch, a pioneer in the folding carton industry, retired as general manager of The Sefton Box Company, Chicago, Illinois, forerunner of Container Corporation of America. After retiring from Sefton, he returned to Germany in the early 1920s and started a business representing American companies.

Another son, Carl, took over Herman's business in Dresden in 1929. He moved the business to Switzerland in the mid-1930s and later to the U.S. In 1950, he started the Carl O. Goettsch Company in Cincinnati, Ohio to export paper products and machinery. Over time, corrugating machinery became the core of the business.

When Carl's son, Charles, entered the business in 1966, additional recycling machinery was added to the company's line of products.
