Flat die, rotary anvil, pneumatically stripped waste

Sheets are picked and placed onto the cutting die by suction cup assemblies and held on register by suction cups within the die itself. The die sits at a 5° angle and is compressed between the die bed and a rotary anvil wrapped in a semi-hard protective sleeve, so the knife penetrates into the sleeve rather than against steel — a clean shear cut and far longer knife life.

Finished pieces stay held in the die by suction while the waste is stripped pneumatically up the waste hood and sent to recycling. Unload suction cup assemblies then pick and place the finished pieces in neat, accurately counted stacks that leave the machine ready for shipping preparation.

Sigma X control platform

Current Baysek C Series machines are built on the Yaskawa Sigma-X servo platform. The 26-bit encoder gives far finer positioning and less speed ripple, while a 3.5 kHz bandwidth and 7,000 rpm maximum motor speed shorten acceleration and settling time — the machine reaches its cycle sooner and holds it more consistently.

The drives carry embedded acceleration sensors that track vibration, thermal headroom and power draw, and run that analysis themselves, so maintenance can be planned before a failure stops production. Sigma-LINK II network architecture routes data through a single hub, isolating encoder lines from electrical noise and vibration, and the amplifiers tolerate cabinet temperatures to 55 °C without auxiliary cooling.
